Beginner’s Yoga Short Course.

Two 90-minute sessions to help you feel confident on the mat

Are you new to yoga or you live with someone who talks about wanting to “try yoga but doesn’t feel flexible enough”? Or maybe you've been to a few classes but still feel like everyone else knows what they're doing?

This two-part beginner's course is designed to take the mystery out of yoga and to also give you the guidance so you can confidently join a regular yoga lesson near you.

Across two practical Saturday sessions, we'll explore the common yoga poses you'll encounter in regular classes, learn some of the language and foundations of yoga, and discover the different styles of practice so you can find what works for you.

We'll look at everything from standing poses and balances to forward folds, twists, backbends and resting postures - learning how to approach them safely and confidently.

You'll also be introduced to different styles of yoga, including Vinyasa Flow and Restorative Yoga, so you'll begin to understand why one class might feel strong and dynamic while another is slow, supported and deeply restful.

YOUR TAKE-HOME KIT

Everyone who joins the course will receive a Beginner's Yoga Home Practice Guide with two simple 30-minute practices - one designed for the morning and one for the evening.

The guides will bring together poses and techniques we've explored during the course, giving you an easy sequence to return to whenever you want to practise at home.

📖 Laminated practice guide
Simple enough to follow at home without needing a teacher beside you

  • 30-minute Morning Yoga Practice
A gentle, energising sequence to help you wake up, move and begin your day.

  • 30-minute Evening Yoga Practice
A slower practice designed to release the day, settle the body and prepare you for rest.

WHAT WE'LL COVER OVER BOTH DAYS

The foundations

Learn how to set yourself up on the mat and understand some of the basic principles of yoga practice.

The poses

We'll work through the common asanas you'll encounter in yoga classes, including standing poses, balances, forward folds, twists, backbends and restorative postures.

The language

Become familiar with some of the Sanskrit and yoga terminology that can make a class feel like another language when you're just starting out.

The styles

We'll explore different approaches to yoga, including Vinyasa Flow, Hatha and Restorative Yoga, and look at what makes each style different.

How to practise

Most importantly, you'll learn that yoga isn't about being flexible or making your body look a certain way.

We'll explore how to listen to your body, work with your own range of movement and make the practice your own.

TWO SATURDAYS

The two sessions are designed to work together, gradually building your knowledge and confidence.

You can join us for both sessions at a discounted price, or come along to an individual session if that suits you better.
