My Story…

My yoga journey began at the age of 16, when I attended my first vinyasa yoga class in San Francisco, California — just a few miles from where I was born and raised. What began as a feel-good physical practice gradually deepened into a way of life, rooted in mindfulness, compassion, and service. For me, yoga is not only a path of personal growth, but also a means to offer presence, support, and care to others — in whatever ways I can.

Over the years, my understanding and expression of yoga have evolved through dedicated study and embodied practice. I am a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher (200 hours) and hold a 300-hour Foundation Certificate from the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY). I have also completed a specialist 85-hour BWY Pre- and Post-Pregnancy Teacher Training, and am a certified doula with Doula UK, trained under world-renowned birth educator Michel Odent and Liliana Lammers.

In 2020, I completed a two-year Advanced Yoga Teacher Training (200 hours), registered with Yoga Alliance. This comprehensive programme deepened my capacity as both teacher and student. It brought together rich elements of embodied awareness, asana, meditation, pranayama, subtle body anatomy, sequencing, mental health-informed practice, and chanting — all held within a framework of yoga philosophy, ethics, and inclusive teaching methodologies. My final dissertation, Yoga As An Alternative Therapy for Mothers in the Home-Start Charity, reflects my deep interest in community-focused and trauma-aware practices.

As a full-time teacher, I now lead regular classes, immersive workshops, and teacher training programmes for both aspiring and experienced teachers. Whether in a group setting or one-on-one, my approach is grounded, nurturing and exploratory. I aim to create a safe and open space where students feel supported to meet themselves honestly, compassionately, and with curiosity. I believe that when we become more aware of our inner landscape, we are better able to show up in the world with integrity, clarity, and care.

I currently live in North Holland with my loving husband Aidan and our three sons, Sonny, Felix, and Cillian. Motherhood continues to be one of my greatest teachers, and I strive to raise our boys with a deep respect for others and for our ever-giving planet. Through this lens — of family, practice, and community — I remain devoted to living yoga both on and off the mat.

My approach to teaching

Cornwall, UK, 2021

As a yoga teacher, my aim is to guide students into a space where they feel safe, nurtured and supported and where they can explore new ideas with a playful attitude. Through my open, kind and calm manner, I hope to foster an environment where students familiarise themselves with their old habitual patterning and not only understand it, but also explore it. This is where students can begin to create transformational changes for themselves. I hope to facilitate and nurture this process with yoga. What is potentially manifested through this individual experience is an understanding of a boundless connection with all creation.

I draw from the boundless generosity of my teachers and peers: Judy Cameron, Joey Miles, Tara Lee, Gillian Evans, Bill Mahoney, Jason Crandell, Richard Rohr, Michel Odent, Stephanie Strange, Nikki Slade, and Rebecca Parker and am inspired to pay these generous teachings forward to those who I encounter every day.
